South Street Players at Wesley Hall

In Rememberance of Margaret Laura Rogers

Maggie

We are sad to inform our South Street Players patrons that a very dear friend and former Board member of South Street has passed away.

Margaret (Maggie) Laura Rogers was a uniquely caring and loving individual who was very much an integral part of South Street Players for decades. Her warm smile and positive attitude were in evidence in every show she was involved. Whether as an actor, producer, director, stage manager or filling any other role in our group she was the consummate professional.

With its many challenges, she understood community theater was not only performing or working a production. There are a variety of roles and tasks behind the scenes of a theater company that are not glamorous or appealing. When requested to help, even with tasks not in her wheelhouse, she would step in to fill the void where other persons were not available.

Maggie has a long history of acting in and working on productions in her native Wisconsin, her time in France where she met her husband, Mark, and here in Central Jersey. Even on her wedding day married to Mark in her hometown of Manitowoc she performed in a production that same evening! The show must go on! Mark and Maggie were the quintessential loving couple supporting each other in everything they did. Her sons Ross, Stephen and David were equally supportive, as well as involved in her work. She was very generous with her time coaching other aspiring actors as they honed their craft.

Maggie, it was a pleasure to have known you and been in your company. We love you very much. We will greatly miss you and the smiles you bring. RIP.
